Its a Journey

My mother has always been a firm believer in holistic health, wait out the fever, suffer through the colds your body will be stronger because of it. Her belief was passed on me to me and my belief has become firmer with time, experience and knowledge. I know that I don’t have all the answers but sure do love to learn. I do know that the body is a brilliant adapter, stronger and more resilient than expected.

My sister broke her jaw during our undergrad, as a massage therapist I could relieve her headaches but they always came back. I could feel the bones in her neck out of whack but couldn’t do anything about it. Together we found a gifted Chiropractor who not only helped my sisters headaches but the Doctor also answered all of my questioned (which were many). Soon I was under regular Chiropractic care and she was the one who encourage me to look into Chiropractic schooling after my Bachelors Degree. She saw my passion for learning and invited me to join her at a Parker Chiropractor Seminar. I was hooked, it was my Eureka! moment. I felt a connection with all that I was hearing, learning and experiencing, it resinated in my soul.

I started on my path of holistic heath care by attending the Atlantic College of Therapeutic Massage in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. My love for knowledge and enjoyment of school had me finishing my Bachelor of Science of Kinesiology while working as a massage therapist. I continued my studies at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA.

We know that exercise and eating right is essential for the body to be healthy. Over the years my belief that health and healing comes from within has grown stronger and that the better we treat our bodies, the better our bodies will treat us. At chiropractic school, I came to know and experience that the chiropractic adjustment helps keep your nervous system functioning optimally. And why is that important? Because your nervous system controls EVERY single muscle, organ, tissue, cell and system in your body.

I try to live a healthy lifestyle by eating heathy, being fit, thinking positive and getting adjusted, as much as I can. I encourage everybody I know and love to do the same. Why? Because it makes you feel better. It improves the quality of your life. It adds years to your life and life to your years. Sound good? Trying to be fit, eat right, think positive and get adjusted on a regular basis is not easy. If it was, everybody would do it. It’s not easy – but it’s worth it. Start small with baby steps and if you fall, pick yourself up and start again. I do. It’s not about perfection, it’s about making the effort.

I am grateful that I found my way to Chiropractic. And I am grateful that I may, in the future, have the opportunity to help teach you about the chiropractic lifestyle and how it can help you achieve your health and wellness goals! It would be my greatest honor to serve you in that capacity. Watching and allowing people to discover the true healing potential that resides within each of us is amazing. I wish that for you and for your family.

I look forward to meeting you and your family in person.
