Dr. Strickland Asks some important questions of interest to Meridian residents - Chiropractor Meridian Dr. Strickland Asks...

What's the difference between maintenance, prevention and wellness?
Maintenance chiropractic care is an attempt to keep a dynamic, ever-changing and adapting organism (you) in a static relationship with your environment. Preventive chiropractic care is mostly about early detection. Wellness chiropractic care is an attempt to optimize our health and be all that you were designed to be.
Why do so many drugs require a prescription?
Because they can be dangerous? I chose a chiropractic career specifically because it avoids artificial means of pain relief. Our Meridian chiropractic practice attracts health-conscious families that prefer a safe and natural solution. Ready to get started? Call our office today.

Meridian Chiropractor : Dr. Roy Strickland

"I developed a painful condition that baffled the doctors."

"Back when I was living in Japan I developed a painful condition that baffled the doctors. Without any warning I would be doubled over in pain almost unable to move. The pain was so intense that it would bring tears to my eyes. I was afraid that it would go on forever. After considering surgery, I decided against it."

Dr. Strickland with his family

"A friend of mine convinced me to give a chiropractor a try. The chiropractor did an exam, and then “adjusted” my spine. The adjustment didn’t hurt, it actually felt good. I got relief, and I could see the light at the end of the tunnel. After a course of care not only was my pain completely gone but my asthma had improved leaps and bounds. I no longer had to live on my inhaler. It worked so well that I went to chiropractic school myself."

Meridian Chiropractor : Education

Dr. Strickland began his pre-chiropractic education at Ricks College and finished at Portland State University where he studied the basic sciences such as inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, biology, along with basic physiology and anatomy courses.

After completing his study there, he was accepted at Western States Chiropractic College in Portland, Oregon. During his four years at Western States, courses included biochemistry, a major emphasis on anatomy and human physiology, X-ray, diagnosis, chiropractic adjusting techniques and patient care in the College Outpatient Clinic. After graduating in 1999 Dr. Strickland moved to the Boise area to establish his practice.

Chiropractic & Your Quality of Life

"We love skeptics." smiles Dr. Strickland. "I still remember the concerns and apprehension I had when I went to the chiropractor for the first time. So we make it a point to explain everything in advance, answer questions and attempt to over communicate. Patients appreciate that. Mainly, we want to improve the quality of the lives of our patients. Health is so much more than just not feeling pain, it is expressing optimum health from within."

At Better Life Chiropractic patients are seen with problems ranging from the obvious like back and neck pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, TMJ syndrome, bulging discs, and headaches to the less obvious conditions like asthma, stomach problems, ear-infections and so forth.

Dr. Strickland has been married to his beautiful wife for the past 12 years and they have four busy boys. If they are not at their sporting events or piano recitals they are enjoying the Idaho Lifestyle; camping, hiking, riding motorcycles, river rafting, fishing-they do it all!"

"I love 'losing myself' at sunset 1200 feet above Boise in my ultralight taking in the view of the foothills."

"My family and I live the 'Chiropractic Lifestyle'. We keep our spines 'tuned up' with regular Chiropractic check ups, stay active, try to eat mostly organic whole foods, and strive to keep emotional and spiritual balance. I also make time to work out three times a week-and hardly ever skip a beat."

"When my kids get sick they never ask for a drug. they voluntarily avoid sweets, ask to get adjusted, drink lots of water, take supplements that they know will help support their immune systems. They are very well-educated on a naturally healthy lifestyle. They know they are different than most kids but they are also the last ones to get sick and the first ones to get over it."
